We are pleased to introduce COPTR ALW – for the first time in Europe, an optical lightning warning system specifically designed for airports and apron operations.
The goal is not just to add another technical solution, but to achieve a measurable improvement in operational processes during thunderstorms and lightning risk in airport environments.
The focus is on three key aspects:
• Minimizing operational interruptions by triggering measures only in case of actual risk
• Clear and immediately visible warning and all-clear signals for all personnel on the apron
• Reliable and traceable decision-making through second-by-second documentation
COPTR ALW integrates seamlessly into existing operational structures, safety concepts, and alarm chains, supporting both operational teams and management.
In addition, the system enables digital connectivity via monitoring, APIs, apps, and documentation – tailored to the specific structure of each airport.
Thanks to its autonomous energy supply and communication, the system is easy and flexible to install – even within existing infrastructures.
We welcome the exchange with airport operators, safety managers, and ground handling companies on current challenges in lightning warning and apron safety.
