Cologne - Every year, hundreds of people are struck by lightning in Germany and injured, some even killed. Protection is a particular problem on large open-air grounds. In Müngersdorf, where one sports facility follows another, a warning system unique in Germany is now to be installed.

Thousands of recreational and club athletes, sports students and also fans on their way to the FC game are to be protected in this way. So far, they have all decided "by instinct" how to behave during thunderstorms (-signs).
