SV Werder Bremen is equipping its training ground with a thunderstorm warning system in a pilot project.
The SVW is thus taking an important step towards ensuring safe playing and training operations for its numerous teams.
The software uses live weather data from measuring stations and thus ensures permanent and fully automatic monitoring of the club grounds.
"It is the responsibility of our coaches to never expose players to dangerous situations.
It is always a matter of experience which coach is able to recognise emerging potential danger and how early. With this system, we want to provide all coaches, athletes and visitors with important assistance in making decisions that result in a match or training session being stopped," said Managing Director Frank Baumann on Thursday.
