As part of the German Football League's (DFL) 2024/25 “Stadium Innovations” initiative, our fully automated lightning warning system was tested and documented under real matchday conditions. It provides venue operators and safety officers with objective, standards-compliant decision support during thunderstorm events – based on real-time lightning data from one of the most accurate detection networks in Europe.
The system is fully compliant with DIN EN IEC 62793 and enables automated warning and all-clear procedures via visual signals, acoustic devices, and app-based notifications including incident logging for documentation and review.
Key benefits at a glance:
Protection of players, staff, and spectators during thunderstorm activity
Standardized, documented procedures for game suspension and restart decisions
Operational support for stadium safety and event management teams
Visitors to next week’s VDE Lightning Protection Conference will have the opportunity to engage in in-depth technical discussions with our expert Dipl.-Ing. Andreas Schmitz, who will share insights into the practical implementation of lightning warning systems in professional football and at major public events.
