Zowel het Fritz Walter Stadion als het sportpark "Rote Teufel" waren al in oktober 2018 uitgerust met een systeem voor op gegevens gebaseerde en automatische onweerswaarschuwingen ter bescherming van toeschouwers, spelers en personeel.
